POWDERHORN—Upcoming craft distillery Lost Falls Distillery has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign this week in hopes of raising $11,500 to begin operations by spring of 2014. Owners Nils Collins and Brian Nackerud plan to distill small batches of unique liquors using local and regional grains, berries, and herbs. All of the products offered as incentives for backing the Kickstarter campaign are ethically manufactured or produced by local artists or craftsmen. [Eater Wire]
ST. PAUL—After announcing plans back in August, the team behind The Strip Club has finally revealed details of their new venture, according to The Pioneer Press. Partners Tim Niver, Brad Tetzloff and Strip Club chef J.D. Fratzke said they are planning an intimate European-style restaurant with a party atmosphere. The space is located in the Lofts at Farmers Market and Jes Werkmeister (Birdhouse) and Laurel Elm (La Belle Vie) will be running the restaurant. [Pioneer Press]
DOWNTOWN—Upcoming pizza-brewpub Day Block Brewing will likely open sometime in January in the former Spill the Wine location at 1101 Washington Ave. S., reports The Journal Mpls. The menu is still being finalized but it will include salad, soups, and sandwiches in addition to pizza and they plan to offer six seasonally rotating beers on tap. [The Journal Mpls]
